Skoober will provide scheduled transportations pursuant to the following terms and conditions:
Acceptance of contract will be issued once we receive your completed registration along with your registration fee. A team member will call you on the next business day to confirm your information and provide you with the details of your account.
In the event you wish to terminate your transportation with Skoober at any time we must have a written request in hand 15 business days prior to cancellation date. Failure to do so will result in penalties, equivalent to 2 weeks of service for the days you were scheduled.
Once your child’s registration is confirmed by Skoober, it is your responsibility to inform your child’s the school that Skoober is your child’s source of transportation. Once you complete that step it is your responsibility to give us the point of contact from the school for us to confirm pickup & drop off as well as issue your child a Skoober I.D. number. By law the school will not release information to a third party without written consent. Failure to comply may result in your child losing their spot.
Skoober agrees to provide transportation to and/or from the designated location. Transportation shall be provided in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable in Charlotte, Union County and the state of North Carolina. Though we will always strive for on-time performance, please note pick-up/drop-off times are + / – 15 minutes of scheduled times (s) due to traffic, weather conditions, late children, mechanical problems, etc.
During inclement weather we follow the guidelines issued by the county your child’s school is in. This applies to early dismissals and holidays as well.
In the event of a unforeseen school emergency (ie fire, bomb threat, etc.) Skoober is not responsible for picking up your child, no exceptions and no credits.
Registration fees are non-refundable.
All rates are based on destinations located within 0-12 miles from pick-up point. Each additional mile is $3.00 per mile.
There may be a 10% surcharge added to the standard fees when gasoline prices rise above $4.00 per gallon.
Only electronic checks and credit/debit will be or cash will be accepted as forms of payment.
Any time that your child will not require transportation as scheduled, notification must be made to the Skoober office no less than 2 hours prior to pick-up. Morning passengers may leave a message on the voice mail. Failure to provide notification will result in an additional $30.00 charge on the following month’s invoice.
Skoober will not provide refunds or credits for any unused rides due to absences, cancellations, holiday breaks, teacher work days and sick days.
Our cost-effective rates are based on group transportation (not taxi or limo fares). We will do our utmost to provide reasonable drive times, but our vehicles are very busy 6:00 AM-9:00 AM and 1:00 PM-7:00 PM, and drive times will range from 30 minutes to 1 ½ hours depending on your location. All pick-up and drop-off times are estimates and subject to change as our ridership changes.
If for some reason Skoober fails to pick up your child due to an emergency situation, you will be immediately notified and credited for that ride on our next statement. If Skoober is unable to continue to provide transportation for any reason, you will receive a notice 10 business days prior to the stop date for transportation and all unused payments refunded.
Seat belts or child restraints are required for all passengers while riding Skoober. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate transportation for any child not cooperating with the seat belt usage. In accordance with the North Carolina State Law, children under 8 years of age or less than 80 pounds are required to be in a child restraint seat or booster seat based on guidelines set by the National Highway Safety Department.
Skoober is not liable for the health, welfare, and safety of your child once the child exits the vehicle to the agreed destination.
Skoober is not responsible for the administering medication on or off the vehicle.
Passengers in need of medication during Skoober rides must have a written order on file from their doctor stating such and authorizing the passenger to self-administer.
Skoober reserves the right to cancel this agreement at any time due to disciplinary problems with a child while riding in a Skoober vehicle.
Cancellation Policy is as stated: Skoober must be notified 15 business days in advance to last day of service with a written request and by contacting our office, no exceptions.
Discipline Conduct Agreement
Skoober’s commitment to provide safety starts with us but requires our passengers to honor the rules set in place to ensure the safety of each child. We believe communication is key and ask that you go over our Discipline Conduct prior to your child’s first Skoober experience.
The 1st incident results in a verbal warning and an email notification to the responsible party.
The 2nd incident results in being written up, an email notification and a call to the responsible party.
The 3rd incident results in a 3 day suspension from riding privileges, an email notification and a call to the responsible party.
Upon the rider’s return from the suspension any further violations shall result in termination.
At anytime a law has been broken this incident will result in an immediate termination.
No refunds due to suspensions or termination of the contract.
